DIU Ranked 2nd among Private Universities in Bangladesh
Daffodil International University (DIU) obtained 2nd position among private universities in Bangladesh in scientific research paper publications in 2019. Scientific Bangladesh, a research magazine of Bangladesh analyzed the research publications indexed in Scopus Database and published this research ranking of the universities. Daffodil International University has also obtained 8th position among all the public and private universities and research organizations in Bangladesh. Besides Mr. Bikash Kumar Paul, a Faculty member of the Department of Software Engineering of DIU also achieved a position in the list of top ten researchers in Bangladesh as per number of Scopus publications in the year of 2019.

To encourage the spirit of bravery among Bangladeshi Journalists, Khondoker Abu Talha Memorial Foundation and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Daffodil International University (DIU) are going to introduce ‘Khondoker Abu Talha Memorial Courage Award’ for Journalists’ (Print & Electronic Media) of Bangladesh from now on every year.

DIA organized a workshop on Cyber Security
On 28 January 2020 (Tuesday), a workshop on Cyber Security was held at Bijoy Milonayaton, Daffodil International Academy (DIA) which was conducted by Mr. Shoriful Islam, Information security analyst of Harvard University and Trainer, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC), DMP. More than 100 participants attended these 3 hour-long workshops where they were introduced to the Cyber Security world and performed some practical works on the topic. Beside this they received instructions to build up career on Cyber Security.

Orientation Program of Department of THM held at DIIT
A magnificent orientation program was held on 26th January, 2020 (Sunday) by the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) of Daffodil Institute of IT for the newly admitted students of 5th batch. The program commenced with a warm welcome by the students of 4th batch to the fresher on behalf of the department of THM.

Daffodil International School EM DHN Preschool arranged its Annual Sports 2020 on 23rd January, Thursday at the main campus. The little toddlers of Preschool made the atmosphere more colorful and joyous with their performances.

National Textile Day-2020 celebrated by Daffodil Polytechnic
Daffodil Polytechnic Institute and Daffodil Polytechnic Textile Club (DPTC) celebrated “National Textile Day” on January 9, 2020, the students celebrated the event with much enthusiasm and initiating different activities. The slogan of the year was ‘Globalization in Textiles and Sustainable Development’ The initiative has been taken in order to raise awareness on the challenges of the 21st century and industrial 4.0 revolution.

Daffodil International University (DIU) paid its debt of gratitude to the national heroes who laid down their lives for this noblest of the causes the Bangladesh have cherished placing wreaths at the National Memorial at Savar today on 16 December 2019 to celebrate 49th Victory Day.

Winter Clothes Distribution by DIS
Daffodil International School Social Welfare Club, Dhanmondi Branch has taken a noble initiative to distribute warm clothes to some of the underprivileged people of our society on January 19, 2020. Respected Principal of DIS, Dr Md Mahmudul Hassan, along with the students wholeheartedly welcomed the needy people and inaugurated the program with a pleasant speech.

Even though the winter is welcomed by the privileged wealthy people by colorful pashminas and festive moods, the cruel winter brings a lot of suffering to the poor people of our country. Quite sadly, many poor people in our country cannot afford to buy warm clothes for winter. In this scenario, women and children especially suffer more.

DIU celebrated 71th Anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Dr. SM MahbubUl Haque Majumder, Pro-Vice Chancellor of DIU, Mr. SM Abul Kalam Azad, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence, People's Republic of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Associate Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, DIU along with others guests inaugurated the program of Human Rights Day and 71 Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
