experience, dedication and success throughout its chronology. There are so many success
stories that the Daffodil Family have achieved over the time. This newsletter is our
mouthpiece. Through this platform, we have attempted to gather a glimpse of success that
the Daffodil Family has achieved during the last couple of months.

DAFFODIL INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY WON ‘ROOKIE OF THE YEAR’ AWARD
Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship of Daffodil International University has won the ‘Rookie of the year’ Award for its outstanding performance in promoting GEN Entrepreneurial effort countrywide. The award has been conferred in a colorful ceremony held on April 15, 2019 in Manama, Bahrain during Global Entrepreneurship Congress and Dr Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU received this recognition for the University. 2500 delegates from 200 countries & 50 minister including Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister of ICT Division of Bangladesh were present in the program. Developing Entrepreneurs is the core focus of the University and to achieve the objectives the University is taking several initiatives. As a part of its effort Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of DIU is collaborating with different organizations and associations globally to give the students a Global Platform to explore their potentials.

Agile Bangladesh Symposium 2019
An initiative to make skilled manpower in IT industry, Daffodil International Academy (DIA) organized “Agile Bangladesh Symposium 2019’’ for the 2nd time in Bangladesh which was held on 27th April 2019 (Saturday), at Bijoy Milonayaton, DIA. Mr. Sayed Almas Kabir, President, BASIS and Dr. Touhid Bhuiyan, Professor and Head, Dept. of SWE, DIU, were the chief and special guests of the inauguration program Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO, Daffodil Family presided over the inauguration program and Mr. Sarwar Hossain Mollah, Deputy Academic Director, DIA provided welcome speech.

Daffodil Chairman nominated as Lead Bangladesh for GEN
Dr. Khan has been nominated to lead the Bangladesh Delegation team considering his Entrepreneurial effort and contribution in Bangladesh in Global Entrepreneurship Congress-2019 on April 15, 2019, in Manama, Bahrain. As the country leader of this largest Entrepreneurial Community, Mr. Khan has been invited to attend all the meetings, meet representatives from 170 countries and he was also invited as a speaker of a very special session titled as “STEM + the Future of Work”.

1000 STUDENTS RECEIVED FREE DCL LAPTOP AT DIU
To prepare the students for the 21st century and to adapt them to the latest ICT friendly education to enhance their knowledge, skills and abilities to fit globally, Daffodil International University (DIU) in association with Daffodil Computers Ltd. distributed 1000 DCL C483 Model Laptop among the students under “One Student-One Laptop” project today on April 29, 2019 at 71Milonayoton of the university. Mr. Md. Rashadul Islam, Additional Secretary, ICT Division of Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology graced the Laptop Distribution Ceremony as the Chief Guest while Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) was present as the special guest and handed over the laptops to the students.

Rafiza Mirza Raka and Nipun Mohiuddin Chowdhury, students of DIS respectively, Uttara were nominated for Daily Star Award for their extraordinary performance. DIS is always keen to develop skills and abilities of the students so that students can think and act by being out of box.

SEIP-BWCCI Project Certificate Giving by BSDI
Under the SEIP-BWCCI Project, BSDI has successfully trained its 1st batch on Food and Beverage production and Entrepreneurship Development. A certificate giving ceremony was held on 7th April 2019 at BSDI where 25 trained women entrepreneurs participated in the program. The success ratio of the participants is 100% in the field of training and employment.

Workshop on Outsourcing held at DIPTI
Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI) organized a workshop on “OUTSOURCING” on April 01, 2019 at Banquet Hall, Daffodil Tower. The Keynote Speakers were Mr. Asif Mohammad Abir, Professional Freelancer, Fiverr & Upwork & Mr. Atikur Rahman Tonmoy, Digital Marketer & Professional Trainer. At the end of each session, an interactive question and answer session was held where the resource persons answered the questions of the participants. At the end of the workshop, Mr. Rathindra Nath Das, Executive Director, DIPTI handed over certificates among the all participants.

Daylong Brainstorming session between Daffodil Family and Retired Armed Forces Officers' Welfare Association (RAOWA) held on April 26, 2019 at Daffodil International University Permanent Campus at Ashulia. Both RAOWA and Daffodil Family has agreed to work together on different agenda where Skill Jobs is working to develop a job portal for the retired member of RAOWA.

DIIT Celebrated 3rd Foundation Day of THM Department
On 4th April 2019, Tourism and Hospitality Management Department, of Daffodil Institute of IT, celebrated the 3rd foundation Day at DIIT premises. To celebrate the foundation day DIIT took several initiatives. The Chief Guests of the event Professor Dr. Syed Rashidul Hasan, Ex. Vice- Chancellor, National University, Ex. Professor, University of Dhaka inaugurated the stalls early at the morning along with the special guests Mareena Khandakar, Ex Manager, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC), Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Adviser of DIIT & Dean, Permanent Campus, DIU. In that occasion distinguished guests from renewed hotel like Four Points by Sheraton, Le Méridien Dhaka and Best Western La Vinci Hotel were also present.

DPI Alumni Reunion held
“PRANER MILON MELA 2019” A reunion program is arranged by Alumni Association of Daffodil Polytechnic Institute (DPI) held on 5th April 2019 at Ashulia, Permanent campus of Daffodil International University. Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family was the chief guest and Mr. K. M. Hasan Ripon, Executive Director of DPI was the special Guest in the program. There was also present the Directors, Teachers and officials of DPI. The daylong outing was passed with exciting outdoor games like- Marble Race-100, Cockfight, Musical chairs, Haribhanga and exciting Cultural events. More than 150 Alumni and employees joined and enjoyed the mega event.

Skill Jobs organized the Workshop: "Meet the Career Doctor" (Session 01) in association with Prothom Alo & Crown Cement held on April 24, 2019 at Seminar Hall 2, Krishibid Institution Bangladesh, Khamarbari, Dhaka.
Nowadays majority of the job seekers faces problem while choosing the career path. They need the guidance and proper information on qualification and application which are important facts before applying for any job. They need proper career counseling & direction to resolve the problem to be employable in proper way.

DIIT, Chattogram celebrated POHELA BOISHAKH 1426
Daffodil Institute of IT, Chattogram welcome and celebrated Pohela Boishakh as well. The campus was decorated with rich Bengali cultural heritage. Student organized a grand cultural program and performed on the stage. Also, there were Ramp Show and Musical Program Band Show at the end of the programme. During the day Art Exhibition was held and there were different stalls for food, toys, flower and juice for the visitors.

DIU Pharma Career Expo 2019 ended at DIU
DIU Pharma Career Expo 2019: 10 years Celebration of Pharmacy Department ended today (Sunday) on April 28, 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University in the capital. Department of Pharmacy of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized this 2- day long DIU Pharma Career Expo 2019 from 27-28 April 2019.

Teachers Training held at DIC Baburhat
Daffodil International College (DIS), Chandpur organized a training session on "National Curriculum Based Teachers Training 2019" at DIC Baburhat Campus on 13 April 2019. The training session was conducted by NCTB Curriculum Specialists Prof. Dr. Azizur Rahman, Prof. Dr. Parvez Sajjad Chowdhury & Prof. Md. Nasir Uddin. As many as 75 Teachers of DIC, DIS, BSDI Chandpur & DIS Baburhat attended in the training session. The teachers gained many new knowledge and techniques that will help them to harness their pedagogy. Certificates were distributed among all participants after the session.

Pahela Baishakh celebrated at DIA
Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla year, was celebrated amid traditional festivities and enthusiasm. The festivities began at dawn on 14 April 2019 with the students and teachers from DIA. The day’s 1st program was started with Tagore’s famous song ‘Esho hey Baishakh, esho, esho’ as a chorus. Students of the Daffodil international Academy and Department of CIS, DIU, have decorated the campus with traditional symbols and items. Different cultural programs had also been organized by the cultural club.

Daffodil International School- English Version celebrated “Baisakhi Utshab” 1426, on 25th April 2019 in the school auditorium. In this colourful event, Mr. Nuruzzaman, CEO, Daffodil Family was present on the occasion as the Chief Guest while Md. Mahmmudul Hasan, Principal of DIS; Shakhawat Hossain, Principal of DIIT (NU); and Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, Director of Students Affair, DIU as special guests. Ms. Zakia Sultana, AVP, DIS gave an opening speech.

Annual Picnic 2019 held in Daffodil International School
Students of DIS enjoyed their annual picnic 2019 on Monday, 25 March 2019 at Dream Holiday Park, Narshingdi. Dr. Masudur Rahman, Vice Principal; Mr. Abu Saleh Md. Hasan, Coordinator of Uttara; and Ms. Jenat Jahan, Coordinator of Dhanmondi Branch along with teachers visited with the team to encourage the students. The daylond picnic made the students enthusiastic and happy.

Skill Jobs organized the 'Career Meet Up' program in association with School of Engineers. Around 350 diploma students of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute joined the program on 05 April 2019 at Daffodil International University Auditorium.

WITSA Secretary General Visited Daffodil International University
Dr. James H. Poisant, Secretary General of World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) visited Daffodil International University (DIU) yesterday on 23 April, 2019. Invited by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Former Chairman of Global Trade Committee & Director of WITSA and Chairman of Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University, he made this visit to DIU. Professor Dr. S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor of DIU accorded floral reception at his arrival in the campus. Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family, Mr. Md. Emran Hossain, Director (Administration) of DIU, Mr. Md. Shahid-Ul-Munir, President of Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) and other high officials of DIU were also present during his visit.

Mr. Golam Monowar Kamal, Managing Director of Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited (BVCL) has been appointed as the Senator of the World Business Angel Investor Forum (WBAF). As a result of this recruitment, Mr. Kamal will be recognized as an influential person in the global angel investment network that will also play vital boost up for the BVCL.

DIU includes Robotics and Artificial Intelligence into Course Curriculum
To Keep pace the students and adjust them with the 4th Industrial Revolution, Daffodil International University has been included ‘Robotics and Artificial Intelligence’ into their course curriculum. This new course has been open for all science and engineering department. Students will get chance to doing international standard research on robotics through this course.

Workshop on Python
“On 24 April 2019 (Wednesday), a workshop on Python was held at Bijoy Milonayaton, Daffodil International Academy (DIA), which was conducted by DIA’s premier instructor & senior-most faculty Mr. BM Nazmul Haque. More than 150 participants attended these 3 hour-long events where they were introduced to the Python language and Python’s web development framework Django. It was announced on this occasion that the 1st batch on Web Development with Python will commence @ DIA from early May”.

Free Basic Computing Course at DIIT Chattogram
Daffodil Institute of IT Chattogram offered a month-long Basic Computer Application training session for SSC appeared students in Chattagram. Total 60 students joined the sessions in 4 batches. The initiative has been taken to develop the skills of SSC appeared candidates so that it helps them in their future career.and in higher studies.

DIU signs MoU with Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (Unirazak), Malaysia
As a part of the regular internationalization of the university, Daffodil International University (DIU) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (Unirazak), Malaysia today on 23 April, 2019 at DIU premises.
Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Samsinar Md Sidin, Vice Chancellor of Unirazak and Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institution.
