mouthpiece. Through this platform, we have attempted to gather a glimpse of success that
the Daffodil Family has achieved during the last couple of months.

Sudden death of a guardian wouldn’t interrupt academic life in DIU
Daffodil International University in association with Pragati Life Insurance has taken a gigantic initiative of introducing a remarkable policy titled ‘Guardian’s Insurance Policy’ first time in Bangladesh for the students who have unfortunately lost their guardians. According to that policy, sudden death of a guardian wouldn’t interrupt academic life of a student in Daffodil International University. If any guardian dies just after admitting her son/ daughter in Daffodil Internatioal University, the university authority would bear his/ her restof the cost to continue his/ her academic life and in this regard Daffodil International University signed an agreement of Guardian’s Insurance Policy with Pragati Life Insurance which is first ever of its kind in Bangladesh. In the first phase of this policy, the first cheque handover ceremony of Guardian’s Insurance Policy was held today on 20 May 2019 at 71 Milonayotion of the university. Mr. Md. Jalalul Azim, Managing Director & CEO of Pragati Life Insurance was present in the ceremony as the chief guest while Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University was present as the guest of honor. Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU presided over the program.

DIU delegation attended 7th ASEF Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum in Romania
Mr. Mohamed Emran Hossain, Director (Administration) and Member of Board of Trustees along with Mr. Syed Raihan-Ul-Islam, Assistant Director of International Affairs of Daffodil International University (DIU) attended the 7th ASEF Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum (ARC7) in Bucharest, Romania from 11–15 May 2019 co-organised by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) with the support of the Romanian Ministry of National Education.

Two-dayInnovation Stakeholder Consultative Conference on ‘Technological Innovation Management Centric Initiative for Building an Innovation Economy’ concluded today on June 13, 2019 at Daffodil International University.Prof. Dr. M Nawaz Sharif, internationally famed expert on technologicalinnovation and technology transfer presented keynote paper as keynote speaker in a conference. Mr. Md. Mostaque Hassan, NDC, Chairman of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) was present at the closing ceremony of the conference as the chief guest while Professor Dr. YousufMahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU presided over the program.

Art of Giving (AOG) observed by DIS and DISS
Daffodil International School (DIS) took part in an auspicious event, named Art of Giving (AOG) which was organized by Daffodil Institute of Social Science (DISS) on May 16, 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University (DIU) in the capital. To mark the day, DISS distributed food packets and educational stationary item among the underprivileged destitute children and their families. Professor Dr. Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU, Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer of DIU, Dr. Md Mahmudul Hasan, Principal of Daffodil International School, Ms. Rahima K Mirza, In-charge of HRDI were present and distributed food packets among the underprivileged destitute children and their families.

Laptop distribution among DPI students held
As the first ever initiative for diploma Engineers, Daffodil Polytechnic Institute (DPI) has distributed laptop among its students free of cost on 19th May 2019 amid great enthusiasm and fervor. To face the challenge of the 21st century and the 4th Industrial Revolution, DPI has taken initiative of “One Student One Laptop” Project, which will greatly equip the students to explore the modern science, technology, employability and knowledge. It will also help the students to take themselves in the international stage.

Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI) organized the Certificate Giving Ceremony for the Students of Industrial Attachment Program-2019. The event was held at Bijoy Milanayton, Daffodil Concord Tower. Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer, Daffodil Family was present as the Chief Guest. Daffodil Family organized the "Corporate Iftar Mahfil-2019"
Daffodil Family organized the "Central Iftar Mahfil-2019" on May 22, 2019 at the 71 Milonayoton, Daffodil Tower, Dhanmondi, Dhaka with the presence of 2000 employee of all the concerns of Daffodil Family. Prof. Mokhter Ahmad, Department of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Technology (IUT) provided keynote speech. Also, Dr. Muzaffor Bin Muhsin, President, Islamic Research and Reformation Center (IRRC) and Dr. Amanuddin Muzahid presented a valuable discussion about the Mercy and blessings of holy Ramadan. Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Family and all the high officials of Daffodil International University & Daffodil Family were also present at the program.

Iftar and Dua Mahfil held at DIIT
As part of its efforts in strengthening the connections and engaging its alumni in the various activities, Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) organized its first Alumni Iftar gathering on Saturday, the 25th of May, 2019 at DIIT Auditorium. Over 100 DIIT alumni, management, faculty, administrative personnel and students attended the grand Ifter Mahfil.

Iftar and Dua Mahfil held at DPI
Different departments of Daffodil Polytechnic Institute (DPI) arranged an Ifter and Dua Mahfil during the month of Holy Ramadan 2019. Departments, like Computer, Civil, Electrical, Telecommunications, and Textile arranged the Iftar & Dua Mahfil on different days.
Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO Daffodil family, was present in a Mahfil, where Mr. K. M. Hasan Ripon, Principal and Executive Director of DPI along with directors, faculty members, high officials and students of DPI were also present.

International Labour Day at DIS
DIS EM Dhn celebrated International Labour Day in a unique way by giving roses to the non-teaching Staffs as a token of appreciation for their hard work. This initiative will greatly motivate the all the non-teaching staff, which will in turn, be transformed to their loyalty, dedication and service to the school.

DIA organized Iftar Mahfil
An ‘Iftar Mahfil’ was organized by the students of Daffodil International Academy (DIA) and the Department of CIS, Daffodil International University (DIU) on 20th May 2019, at Bijoy Milonayaton, Daffodil Concord Tower, Dhaka. Mukhtar Ahmed, Associate Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Technology (IUT) provided the keynote speech on “The Significance of Ramadan in our Daily Life”. The students, faculty members and the management personnel attended the program. The Iftar Mahfil was started with recitation from the Holy Quran. A special prayer was offered for the development of Daffodil Family and the welfare and peace of the country.

Mother's Day celebrated in DIS
In tribute to all those mothers out there, DIS EM Dhn Pre-school students celebrated this special day on Sunday, May 12, 2019 with great enthusiasm and fervor. Cute students made lovely handmade cards and presented them to their mothers and wished them a Happy Mother's Day. It will help to strengthen the relationship between mother and kid. Daffodil International School wishes every Mother a Happy Mother's Day.

DTI observed Baishakhi Festival -1426
Baishakhi Festival -1426 was observed on April 25, 2015 at the Daffodil Technical Institute (DTI) with the participation of students and teachers. Students made different types of masks and placard to show the respect to the Bengali culture. Mr. Rathindra Nath Das, Executive Director and Principal announced the inauguration of this program by expressing solidarity with the students at this Baishakhi festival.

Lt Col Md. Zahirul Islam (Retd), Principal, Daffodil International College, introduced a philanthropic activity in the name “We are in bond of humanity”. A shelf with transparent glass has been built on the front wall of DIC for keeping and distributing unused dresses to the needy people.

University of Greenwich delegation at DIA
As a part to undertake a Quality Assurance visit, Professor Dr. Mayur K Patel, Director of Internationalization & Partnerships, University of Greenwich, London, UK visited Daffodil International Academy (DIA) during 13th & 14th May 2019. It is the outcome of collaboration between DIA & UoG, where UoG delivered undergraduate program partnering with DIA. Professor Dr. Mayur met students of the BIT program as well as shared course progress, issues, concerns and future growth prospects with the teaching staff and the management of DIA.

The seminar on Alumni Talk titled "Meet the Trendsetters: Success Stories of Our DIU English Alumni" with the current students of the department was held on May 13, 2019 as scheduled from 3 pm to 5 pm at the Auditorium of DIU. The program was graced by the presence of our Honorable Vice Chancellor: Professor Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, PhD, along with the Director, Adminstration: Mr. Anil Chandra Paul and the faculty members of the department.
