BANGLADESHI STUDENTS HAVE IMMENSE OPPORTUNITIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION IN AUSTRALIA — DR. MD. SABUR KHAN

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University presented the Keynote Speech at the International Conference on Advancements in Engineering Education (iCAEED 2018) at the 3rd Global Circle for Scientific, Technological and Management Research (GCSTMR) World Congress held at Western Sydney University (WSU), Sydney, Australia on 3rd December 2018.

‘Daffodil Family Day-2018’ Celebrated

Day long ‘Daffodil Family Day-2018’ held with various colorful gala events on 21stDecember, 2018 at Swadhinota Milonayaton of permanent campus of Daffodil International University, Ashulia, Dhaka. Around 2500 employees of 35 sister concern of Daffodil Group took part in the program. The most important event of the day was to form Human Map of Bangladesh with the participants of the day. The Family Day was also included with various events like painting competition, cricket, football, Badminton, biscuit run with participation of employee’s children, enjoying different rides , cultural function and prize giving session etc.

Bangladeshi ICT Graduates are going to start Career in Japan through Skill Jobs

Skill.Jobs has opened the boundary to explore career opportunity in Japan. 07 IT graduates from different universities from Bangladesh are going to start their Career in Japan as a Programmer at different organizations under Human Resocia Co. Ltd. Japan. Human Resocia, Japan has completed their recruitment process in Bangladesh though Skill Jobs after a long process such as seminar, spot recruitment, online test & Skype interview. They will fly towards Japan after completing their language training & business manner proficiency test from DJIT & Skill Jobs. Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, the CEO of Skill Jobs congratulated them through a formal meeting and ensured that the process will continue in future also.

Hult Prize on Campus competition held

The final round on campus competition of the Hult Prize popularly known as student’s Nobel Prize worldwide was held for the 2nd time at Daffodil International University on 8thDecember, 2018. In the final round The Team “Craftiques” won the Final of On Campus Hult Prize at Daffodil International University. First Runner up is “Aspire” and Second Runner Up is “ Swadhin Nari”. Based on different criteria’s of evaluation Daffodil International University is the number one in the world this year among 1200+ universities and the total number of registered participants were 580. So, winning three teams will get opportunity to compete in different regional finals and the Team Craftique will be flying to Singapore to compete in the Regional Final on March, 2019. First Runner up team “Aspire” will be flying to Malaysia and Second Runner Up team “ Swadhin Nari” will compete in regional finals in Mumbai to represent Bangladesh for the final Hult Prize at United National , New York in September 2019.

‘70 Years of Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ celebrated

Department of Law of Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated the ‘70 years of Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ with flying balloon, cutting cake, debating program, discussion and many other colorful event today on 10 December, 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Former Chairman, Bangladesh Human Rights Commission and Professor Dr. Father Patrick Gaffney CSC, Vice Chancellor of Notre Dame University were present at the program as the Guest of Honors. Presided over by Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University; Professor Dr. A M M Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Science, Md. Riaduzzaman, Head, Department of Law also addressed in the program. The program was conducted by Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Associate Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Science of DIU.

DPI students visited National University of Malaysia

Daffodil Polytechnic Institute (DPI) had organized a seven days long “Edu Tour” at Kebangsaan University in Malaysia from 26th October To 3rd November 2018. In this study tour, the students joined a four days long workshop at Kebangsaan University, the national university of Malaysia. Students also visited another three universities and a polytechnics where they got the opportunity to learn, how to ensure a successful an international level career through the Engineering education.

MoU between BAIUST and DSL signed

A MoU is signed between Bangladesh Army International University of Science & Technology (BAIUST) & Daffodil Software Ltd. (DSL) on December 08 2018 at the BAIUST, Comilla Cantonment Campus. Col. A H M Kamal, Registrar, BAISUT & Mr. Reaz Uddin Ahmed, Business Development manager, DSL signed the MOU from the respective concerns.

DIU supports to establish School of Engineering in Nigeria

Daffodil International University (DIU) has taken initiative to support establishing School of Engineering in Nigeria and signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Al-Qalam University Katsina (AUK). With a view to launch engineering school, Professor Shehu Garki Ado, Vice Chancellor, AUK along with Alhaji Muhammad Lawal Lamido, Director, Academic Planning have paid a visit to Daffodil International University. The AUK delegation visited Software Engineering (SWE) & Textile Engineering (TE) Lab of DIU as a part of physical verification. Apart from the visits, they took part several meetings with SWE, TE & MPH departments of DIU.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed between Horseed International University (HIU) of Somalia and Daffodil International University (DIU) of Bangladesh. Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University and Dr. Abdikarim Sh-Mohamed Hassan, Rector of Horseed International University (HIU) signed the MoA on behalf of their respective institutions on December 19, 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of DIU.

My e-Kids team stood 17th in SCB-Prothom Alo Programming contest

A team of My e-Kids stood the 17th out of 62 school teams from all over Bangladesh. Only the top 11 were awarded and given medals. The team comprised of for both Soha and Nabeela showed their promising spirit and earned insightful experience for the future.

Seminar on ‘Drug Free Beautiful Life’ held at DIU

Daffodil International University(DIU) in association with Department of Narcotics Control, Bangladesh have organized a seminar titled ‘Drug Free Beautiful Life’ today on 4 December 2018 at 71 Milinayoton of the university. Study Tour held in DIS

With the tagline "Learn History and Face the Truth" and in honour of the brave martyrs of Bangladesh, Daffodil International School (English Medium) Dhanmondi, Dhaka organised its Annual Study Tour 2018-19 at Liberation War Museum on 5th December 2018. Objective of this endeavour was to grant its students a chance to acquire a more vivid and accurate knowledge on Liberation War of Bangladesh.

Victory Day celebrated in DIS

DIS English Medium Dhanmondi branch observed the 47th Victory day of Bangladesh gracefully on 17 December at its own premises. The celebration was a cultural show based on the true culture of Bangladesh. It consisted of classical Bangla songs, dances and poetry recitations performed by students and teachers.

DIU Pay homage to the Martyrs of Liberation War at the 47th Victory Day

Daffodil International University paid its debt of gratitude to the national heroes who laid down their lives for this noblest of the causes the Bangladesh have cherished placing wreaths at the National Memorial at Savar today to celebrate 47th Victory Day. A team of DIU led by Professor Dr. A. K. M. Fazlul Haque, Associate Dean and Director, IQAC of the university placed floral wreaths at the National Memorial.

DIU Textile Engineering Department celebrates IEB Accreditation and Alumni Day 2018

Department of Textile Engineering of Daffodil International University celebrated IEB Accreditation and reunion of the Textile Alumni on 30 November, 2018 at permanent campus of the university at Ashulia, Dhaka. Engr. S M Monjurul Haque Monju, Vice President, Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) while Engr. S M Sirajul Islam, Chairman, Textile Engineering Division of IEB, Professor Dr. M. Strategic meeting on FY 2019

Bangladesh Venture Capital Team organized a strategic planning meeting with Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd on the revenue planning of FY 2019. Mr. Khan also added a few strategies with their next year plan.

Bijoy Dibos Sommanona achieved by DIC Principal

Lt. Col. Md. Zahirul Islam (Retd), Principal, Daffodil International College (DIC) received the “Bijoy Dibosh Sommanona-2018” on 14th December' 18 for his special contribution to the education sector of Bangladesh. The program was organized by Sher-e-Bangla Research Council and 71 Media Vision. The program was chaired by Syed Marghub Murshed where Justice Md. Shamsul Huda remained present as the special guest. It is to be mentioned here that in the previous years, he also received several awards for his contribution to the education sector.

International Joint Conference on Computational Intelligence-2018 held at DIU

ToT on Competency Based Training (CBT)

With a view to ensuring competency among the students as per the industry requirements and to apply effective, interactive teaching & learning techniques, Bangladesh Skill Development Institute (BSDI) organized a two days long Training of Trainers on Competency Based Training (CBT) for the teaching professionals on…... 2018 at…... The session was conducted by Mr. K M Hasan Ripon, Advisor at BSDI and Certified Master Trainer on CBTA (Australia & China), and Mr. Moinuddin Chowdhury, CEO SLSD & Secretary General of BOLD where teachers from different organizations took part. The training session will help the teachers to engage students more on practical works which is really a time demand.

Winter clothes distribution by DIA students

The students and the teachers of Daffodil International Academy (DIA) have distributed the winter clothes among the street children on the occasion of the Victory Day 2018. They distributed the clothes in a school named School of Humanity which is located in Mohammadpur. Around 50 pieces of clothes were distributed.

BVCL is now the Alternative Investment Fund Manager

Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd (BVCL) has been awarded the ‘Alternative Investment Fund Manager’ Certificate by Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) under Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Alternative Investment) Rules, 2015 on 4 Dec 2018. As a Fund Manager, Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd will be able to raise and manage the Venture Capital, Private Equity and Impact Fund in Bangladesh and abroad.

10 member DIU delegate meets Cabinet Minister of Srilanka and visits ‘Temple Trees’

Students & faculty members of Daffodil International University visited the residence of Prime Minister of Sri Lanka ‘Temple Trees’ & met Mr. Sagala Gajendra Ratnayaka, Member of Parliament of Sri Lanka who is currently Cabinet Minister of Project Management, Youth Affairs & Southern Development recently. Mr. Sagala is also a renowned politician of Sri Lanka and former Cabinet Minister of Law and Order & Southern Development & also Prime Minister's Chief of Staff. During the meeting, DIU delegation shared their experiences, learning as well as discussed both country’s socio-cultural aspects.
