experience, dedication and success throughout its chronology. There are so many success
stories that the Daffodil Family have achieved over the time. This newsletter is our
mouthpiece. Through this platform, we have attempted to gather a glimpse of success that
the Daffodil Family has achieved during the last couple of months.

8th Convocation of DIU held
Daffodil International University (DIU) holds its 8th convocation with colorful events today on 13 March 2019 at permanent campus of the university, Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka. Delegated by Md. Abdul Hamid, Honorable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor of DIU, Dr. Dipu Moni M.P, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh presided over the convocation ceremony and conferred the degrees. Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh was present as the special guest in the convocation. Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President, SIAM University, Bangkok, Thailand attended the convocation as the Convocation Speaker. The convocation ceremony was also addressed by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Board of Trustees and Professor Dr. Yousfuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. S M Mahabub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro VC, Professor Ahmed Ismail Mostafa, Dean, FAHS, Professor A M M Hamidur Rahman, Dean, FHSS, Professor Shamsul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Professor Doctor Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship.
In the 8th Convocation a total number 5631 students wasconferred upon graduation and post-graduation degrees and among them 17 best result oriented graduates were awarded ‘Gold Medal’ in different categories.

BSDI Celebrated Global Money Week 2019
With 170 countries worldwide, Bangladesh Celebrated Global Money Week, 2019 from
March 25 to March 31 this year with utmost importance. Daffodil International
University in association with Bangladesh Skill Development Institute and Bangladesh
Bank the celebration event was organized. The objective of the celebration is to educate
the young generation with financial education and financial inclusion and it is achieved
through different events including Global Money Week celebration.

DIU achieves prestigious position in Times Higher Education
Daffodil International University (DIU) has achieved prestigious position for the first time in Bangladesh in Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings-2019, released on 03 April, 2019. This result is based on the contributions towards several Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations. DIU is the only University from Bangladesh to get ranked within top 300 universities in this year’s global ranking.

Seminar on Career Prospect in Arduino
“On 06 March 2019 (Wednesday), a Seminar on ‘Career Prospect in Arduino’ was held at Bijoy Milonayaton of Daffodil International Academy (DIA). Mr. A N M Safiqul Islam, Joint Secretary and Project Director, Support to Development of Kaliakoir (and others High-Tech Park) Project was present at the event as the Chief Guest where Mr. Rathindra Nath Das, Executive Director, DIPTI was present there as the Special guest.

Independence Day Celebrated at DIC
DIC celebrated the 49th Independence Day by recalling the millions who laid down their lives, while many others sacrificed in many ways to free the country from pakistani clutch. The program started with recitation from Holy Quran followed by National Anthem, discussion and cultural events. Teachers and the students participated in the cultural events wearing red and green outfits. Tribute was made to commemorate the liberation war heroes.

Freshers’ Reception at DIPTI
Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI) is offering industrial attachment facilities for the Polytechnic Institute students and as part of this facility more than 150+ students attended Industrial Attachment facilities at DIPTI this year.

DIA Celebrates International Women’s Day
Daffodil International Academy (DIA) celebrates women's day on Friday, 8th March 2019. To celebrate the international women’s day DIA arrange a program named “Google Cloud Study Jam”. In this program girls get a hand on training about cloud competition. Titash Ahmed, Co-manager of GDG Bangla and LIad Alam, Ambassador of Google Developer Group DIA Chapter was present there.

DIC observed International Mother Language Day
On 21st February, Daffodil International College observed National Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day. The celebration started with the Provat Feri and then the Honorable Principal Lt. Col. Md. Zahirul Islam (Retd) along with Faculties/Officers and Students went to the Shaheed Minar to pay tribute to the Martyr. A discussion session and cultural program was held in the honour of our great language martyrs.

DIUDC became Unbeaten Champion in ‘MJF CUSD National Debate-2019’
Daffodil International University Debating Club (DIUDC) has become Champion in ‘MJF CUUSD National Debate-2019’organized by Chottagram University School of Debate in association Manusher Jonno Foundation. The final round was held between Daffodil International University Debating Club and Premier University Debating Society on 23 March, 2019 where DIUDC became champion. The debater of DIUDC was Al Mukit Bari, Omar Faruq Shimanto and Nazia Afroz. Omar Faruque Simanta of DIUDC became Debater of the final.

To mark the 48th Independence & National Day of Bangladesh, DIU Air Rover Scout Group organizes Independence Day Camp-2019 on March 29 (Friday) at Permanent Campus of Daffodil International University (DIU) at Dattapara, Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka for the first time in Bangladsh.

Daffodil Polytechnic Cultural Club celebrates the 48th Independence Day, amid a wide variety of events throughout a week. The event was concluded on March 28, 2019, through the prize giving ceremony and cultural program at Bijoy auditorium of Daffodil International Academy. Md. Hamidul Haque Khan, a Freedom Fighter and the Treasurer of Daffodil International University was present as the Chief guest.

BVCL SIGNED MOU WITH KAMBRIA
Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd. (BVCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kambria, an USA based open innovation platform, on 11 March 2019. The signing ceremony was held online. Mr. Thuc Vu, CEO of Kambria and Mr. Golam Monowar Kamal, Managing Director, BVCL signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institute. Through this MOU, entrepreneurial initiatives will be strengthen, promote and develop.

Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a workshop on ‘Declaring Research Activities by EEE Faculty Members’ for promoting research culture and practice in the university on 11 March, 2019 at the Meeting Room (Room # 308) of the Main Building. Prof. Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Honorable Vice Chancellor, DIU was present in the workshop as Chief guest and Prof. Dr. Md. Kabirul Islam, Director, Division of Research, DIU was present as the workshop president. Dr. A K M Alamgir, Assoc. Professor and Research Coordinator, Dept. of EEE conducted the workshop as convener.
